Since, internal organ balance and emotional balance are interrelated. Emotional imbalance can be improved by treating meridians and tsubos by Shiatsu. Internal organ balance can be restored by working on the emotions, such as through meditation, breathing and touch communication.
In the “The Yellow emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine”, the 2500 years-old text of Chinese medicine, the Emperor asks the Master how people can prevent illness. The master answers, “As long as one’s five internal elements (emotions) are completely balanced one has perfect resistance to any outside illness.” The Five Element theory is commonly used to balance the five corresponding emotions when dealing with psychological matters.
