Introduction to Shiatsu & Chair Makko Ho: A Self-Care Workshop
Join Grand Master Kumiko Kanayama, founder and director of Five Lights Center of Shiatsu, for an introduction to Japanese wellness culture through Shiatsu and Chair Makko Ho. This one-hour workshop invites you to stretch, breathe, and reconnect with your body through accessible practices inspired by traditional Japanese wellness.
Discover the foundations of Shiatsu, a Japanese bodywork practice that uses mindful touch and pressure to support relaxation and balance. You’ll also be introduced to Chair Makko Ho, a series of stretches designed to encourage movement, flexibility, and body awareness. Together, these practices offer simple ways to incorporate self-care into your everyday life.
Whether you’re new to Shiatsu or looking to deepen your wellness practice, this workshop offers a welcoming opportunity to experience these traditions with an experienced teacher.
