Yoshi Nakano is a second generation Asian bodyworker, teacher, brush calligrapher and artist who has been inspired by renowned teachers including: Thich Nhat Hanh, Dr. Vasant Lad, Ohashi, Mantak Chia, Takemori and Shinsuke Nakano (Yoshi’s father).
At the age of eleven, Yoshi began to practice anma, brush calligraphy, martial arts and moxibustion. He studied and taught shiatsu at the Ohashi Institute, the Bateman Institute, and The Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in New York. Yoshi served on the faculty of the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts, taught at Pima Community College, and was a guest teacher in the University of Arizona’s Honors Program.
Yoshi helped the Prajna Yoga Temple develop the Art of Touch program for yoga teacher trainees, and trained bodyworkers at Ten Thousand Waves, a Japanese health spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Additionally, he taught Asian bodywork to therapists in Kingston, Jamaica.
Yoshi helped present a Makko-Ho meridian video for Heart Mind Healing Arts in California. He is currently an associate teacher with The Five Light Center of Shiatsu in New York City.
